The Bell Uganda Cup winners, URA FC, have signed former Cranes midfielder Owen Kasule. The towering midfielder was unveiled on Friday by Coach Alex Isabirye.
The former Bunnamwaya SC and regular Cranes midfielder has been plying his trade with Vietnamese side Hoang Anh Gia Lai SC since November last year.
Kasule’s contract with the Vietnamese club reportedly ended on April 16th this year. Signing Kasule on a two-year deal makes him URA’s the fifth signing after the transfer window opened two weeks ago.
Kasule said that he was happy to join URA, describing the tax collectors as a traditional club in the modern setting of Ugandan football. He noted that he is here to win trophies.
The other players who have joined URA and will be battling for places on the team when they take part in the 2012 Cecafa Kagame Club Championships in Tanzania July 14-29, include Erisa Ssekisambu, Yayo Lutimba, Yasin Mugabi and Erukana Nkugwa.
