Moroto police is holding two suspects in connection to the murder of an expectant mother last week. The suspects are Gideon Obuini, a UPDF soldier attached to Kambizzi detachment and Ali Opus, a resident of Camp Swahili trading center in Moroto municipality. The suspects were picked on Tuesday from their hideouts. They are wanted for the murder of Amina Angella alias Lala on Wednesday last week.
Angella was strangled to death and her body dumped 20 meters away from Kambizzi army detachment outside Moroto town. The body was discovered by UPDF soldiers who were returning to the army detach from night patrol. George Obia, the Karamoja spokesperson says that both suspects were lovers to the deceased, adding that they were seen with her at separate occasions before she was found dead.
He says that both suspects will be charged with murder once investigations are complete. In a related development, a decomposing body of a young boy has been found buried in a river bed in Kanamokol village in Nadunget Sub County in Moroto district. It was discovered by an elderly woman who was collecting stones for sale from the river. According to police, the body has not yet been identified.
Obia appeals to the public to furnish police with any relevant information of any missing person back in their villages.
