URA FC Travel by Road for Cecafa Club Championships in Tanzania

The Revenue side who open their campaign against Tanzanian champions Simba SC on July 15, traveled by road.
 
The revenue side named a squad of 20 players including player of the year Robert Ssentongo and their new signings—Yasin Mugabi, Derrick Walulya, Yayo Lutimba and Owen Kasule.

Head coach Alex Isabirye told URN on Tuesday evening that although they are going to face tough teams from the region, they are also ready for the campaign and will be all out to make it out of the group stage.

URA FC who have never won the regional trophy will have to tussle it out in Group A alongside Simba (Tanzania), Ports (Djibouti) and guest side Vita Club from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Chris Kalibbala, one of the vice presidents of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), is leading the contingent.

Tanzania’s Young Africans who are the defending champions will play against Rwanda’s APR, Atletico  of Burundi and new comers Salaam Wau of South Sudan in Group C, while Group B has Azam from Tanzania), Mafunzo FC of Zanzibar and Kenya’s Tusker.

The event is sponsored by Rwanda President Paul Kagame to a tune of 60,000 US dollars to cater for the cash prizes and other local sponsors in Tanzania.

URA players: Allan Owiny, Brian Bwete, Yasin Mugabi, Simeon Masaba, Sam Mubiru, Sam Ssenkoomi, Derrick Walulya, Musa Docca, Allan Munaaba, Yayo Lutimba, Robert Ssentongo, Augustine Nsumba, Said Kyeyune, Erisa Sekisamba, Nkugwa Elukana, Owen Kasule, Oscar Agaba, Sula Bagala, Ali Feni and Farouk Osman Wejjuli.
