One dead, 2 seriously injured in Kakira accident

The Jinja police OC traffic Mr Dickson Rugundana says the trailer which was loaded with cement was headed towards Kampala.
One person has been confirmed dead and two seriously injured in an accident that has occurred in Kakira along Jinja-Tororo road. The early morning accident involved a pick up truck registration number UAR 206M and a Scania trailer registration number UAL573H/UAL932X.

The Jinja police OC traffic Dickson Rugundana says the trailer which was loaded with cement was headed towards Kampala. The pick up was bound for Tororo from Kampala when they collided at a hump in Kakira.Rugundana says the deceased was seated in co-driver's seat of the pick up with the driver.

Documents found on the deceased identified him as Paul Edyegu 38 years, a resident of Mbuya in Nakawa, Kampala city.  Rugundana named one of the injured people as Denis OJoke 38yrs a resident of Ntinda a Kampala saburb. Rugundana says the second injured person could not readily be identified because he was rendered unconscious by the accident.

He says both the injured and dead have been taken to Jinja referral hospital. Rugundana could however not immediately reveal the cause of the accident saying police are still investigating.
