Defending Airtel Basketball Champions DMark Power were last night beaten 70-63 by Miracle Eagles in one of the League games played at the YMCA Courts, Wandegeya.
The champions, who seem to be having a bad time after suffering a loss to KIU Titans as well in the first round, were down 12-14 in the first quarter. They however fought back to lead in the next two quarters before failing to defend in the fourth quarter.
Muhamed Yusuf had 19 points for Miracle while Ivan Lumanyika and Omar Farouk had 17 and 12 points respectively. DMark Power had Isaac Lugudde, Collins Mukiiza and Emmanuel Enabu all finish with 9 points. The loss puts the defending champions in an awkward situation as they aim to make it for the play-offs.
In the other games, Heaters beat Ndejje University Angels 46-36, KIU Rangers defeated Amazon Rhinos 66-25, while the women’s defending champions UCU Lady Canons humbled Makerere Cubs 100-18. Purity Odhiambo and Maureen Amoding scored 21 and 20 points respectively for the University side.
On Saturday Kyambogo Warriors stopped Vegetarian 99-44, while Crane High fell 64-40 to Nabisunsa and A-1 Challenge beat Gladiators 45-24.
