Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club will be more than determined this afternoon to keep their winning run going as they face Rwanda’s APR in the first quarter final of the on-going 2012 Cecafa Kagame Club Championships in Tanzania.

URA who have never won the regional trophy beat Simba 2-0, before picking similar 3-1 wins over DR Congo’s AS Vita Club 3-1 and AS Ports of Djibouti in the group stages. But the knock out stage is a different ball game and could prove more of the more clinical side taking the day.

Interestingly the likes of Johnson Bagoole and Dan Wagaluka will have the chance of facing their fellow Ugandans, but URA coach Alex Isabirye thinks the game will actually be very tricky. “I respect APR because they have won the trophy before and also have a good coach from Europe. But anything could happen on the pitch and all we need to do is take our chances,” Isabirye told URN on phone on Sunday night.

Isabirye is also happy all his players who had earlier picked injuries like Owen Kasule were steadily improving and defender Derrick Walulya will be back after serving a one match suspension. Isabirye will hope that Feni Ali and Robert Ssentongo who a have each bagged two goals apiece continue with their scoring form. But URA will have to watch the creative and experienced APR striker Olivier Karekezi who returned from the paid ranks in Europe last season.

The second quarter final clash this afternoon will have defending champions Young Africans (Tanzania) against Zanzibari side Mafunzo. Action continues tomorrow with Tanzanian sides Azam and Simba facing off, while Burundi’s Atletico battle AS Vita Club in the other quarter final contests.
