The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) President, Lawrence Mulindwa has advised young footballers not to neglect education.
While presiding over the 2-day finals of the Airtel Under-17 Raising Stars football tournament in Kakindu Stadium in Jinja on Sunday, Mulindwa called upon young footballers to attend school which will also help them on imparting discipline in future when they join the national team.
Mulindwa said that FUFA tries to identify talent and nurture it so that when a big sponsor comes in place, they work hand in hand. He emphasized their youth, however, and encouraged the players to utilize their school years by actually studying too.
Mulindwa said the Federation wants to see the young footballers successfully completing school. Mulindwa said football is changing in and they will not be able to entertain school drop outs in future.
