Mike Ochula, the former Kilak County Member of Parliament is in trouble over a loan of 11 million shillings. Ochula was picked up on Tuesday in Gulu town and detained at Gulu Central Police Station for his alleged failure to repay the loan he received from unidentified money lender in Kampala.
Johnson Kilama, the Northern Regional Police Spokesman says that Ochula was transferred to Kampala on Wednesday morning where he is to be arraigned in court. Efforts to get a comment from Ochula were futile as his known mobile phone telephone number was switched off. Ochula has been spending most of his time socializing with friends in Gulu since he lost his seat to Gilbert Oulanya, the incumbent Kilaka County MP.
This is not the first time the former Kilak County legislator has had a run-in with law enforcement officers. In 2007 while still MP, Ochula was arrested and detained in Gulu Central Police Station for driving under the influence of alcohol.
