The only public toilet in Kiboga town has gone unrepaired for two weeks now. The toilet located in Kiboga Taxi Park serves over 300 people daily.
The toilet’s septic tank malfunctioned two weeks ago. It has been oozing sewage into the neighbourhood since then.
Elia Ssekandi Mulanzi, the chairperson Kiboga Taxi Park and Central Market business community, told URN that bar and restaurant owners are making big losses as customers have abandoned their establishments because of the stench.
Mary Namuli a bar owner in one of the lock ups in Kiboga Taxi park said that traders would soon stop paying taxes to the council authorities if they could not do something as simple as a septic tank repair quickly.
Mulanzi said that the traders had put the town council on notice to repair the septic tank in a week. Failure to do so will prompt the traders to have a sit-down protest in the council compound until the problem is attended to.
