The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has today officially announced that Uganda Super League Limited (USLL) no-longer have the mandate to run the national League and a new company will take charge.

Mujib Kasule, the FUFA Vice President in-charge of the League, announced during a press briefing at the headquarters in Mengo that the mandate had now been given to FUFA Premier League Limited, a company that is made up of the 16 League clubs as per the Jinja Declaration.

He said the constitution for the changes were endorsed by 14 clubs and only SC Villa and Uganda Revenue Authority have not yet signed, but Kasule said he hopes the two sign soon. He said the New Fufa League will be tasked with forming a Board and they must have a secretariat in place. He invited competent members of the USLL secretariat to contest for positions in the new body.

Cue out; …At the time,” //

On June 26, a group of Fifa officials led by Primo Carvaro and Nicholas Valticos had a meeting with all stakeholders and entrusted Fufa to have a committee composed of Clubs and FUFA representatives to embark on formulating new League Statutes and ensuring new order. A list of club chairmen was also identified, reviewed and registered with FUFA and the FIFA panel as the official link in the progress on the top tier league. This whole process was to ensure that before the new league 2012-13 starts, matters of contention, governance and association football regulations are realigned.

The new League Statutes were formulated through a meeting of the chairmen of the super league clubs on July 29 at Hotel Africana. Anthony Kimuli, who was in-charge of the Committee said the process has been communicated to FIFA and the sponsors to keep them abreast of the progress.

Cue out; A new company,”//

Kasule made it clear that although some clubs have already received cash under USLL, this process will be solved when FUFA speaks to the sponsors. He said it is unfortunate that the USLL people are even thinking of having a separate league which of course will not be recognized by FIFA.

When URN contacted USLL Chief Executive Officer, Ebil Ssegawa, he refused to comment as he was engaged in a USLL symposium that was taking place along Buganda Road.
