Kizinzi has filed a case at Rukungiri Central Police Station under reference number CRB 41/27/08/2012.
John Tumuheire Kizinzi, a resident of Katerero cell in Rukungiri district is accusing Gen. Aronda Nyakairima, the Chief of Defense Forces of sending his guards to steal his cattle. Kizinzi has filed a case at Rukungiri Central Police Station under reference number CRB 41/27/08/2012. In his statement, Kizinzi claims that recently two armed men attacked his farm and raided his cattle claiming that they were working under the orders of Nyakairima.
Kizinzi says that he watched helplessly as the armed men took away his cattle and threatened to shoot him should he try to follow them. Michael Ogwal, the officer in charge of Kabale Central Police Station says that they have launched investigations into the complaint. He explains that Nyakairima and Kizinzi have been grazing their cattle on a disputed piece of land, with both parties claiming to be rightful owners of the land.
Ogwal says that Nyakairima had earlier on reported a case accusing Kizinzi of encroaching on his farm land. In a 16th February letter to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions Gen Aronda, accuses Kizinzi for criminal trespass, malicious damage to property and theft of mark stones worth shillings 5 million.
But Kizinzi will not have any of this. He insists that he acquired the disputed land in 1991 and has a title to prove his claims. Gen Aronda Nyakairima has not yet commented on the matter as he could not be reached by the time of filing of this story. By the time of filing this report, Kinzizi's cows were still being kept at the home of General Nyakairima.
