Emin Baro, a Macedonian national who shot to prominence after he was convicted and sentenced to two years in prison but paid a six million shilling fine, is facing fresh charges of aggravated defilement in Masaka.

Emin Baro has since taken a plea in a Masaka court where he was charged with aggravated defilement.

Earlier on, Baro had been charged before the Nakawa Magistrate’s Court under the Computer Misuse Act, after he was found with a compact disc showing two children sucking his genitals at Bugumba village in Iganga district.

Baro (54) had been at an internet café but forgot the compact disk and its discovery led to his arrest when he returned to the café to pick up the compact disc.

After he was fined six million shillings, the incident inspired public outcry which eventually resulted in his case being referred to the Nakawa High Court where Justice Faith Mwondha ordered a refund of the money and a retrial.

However the case has entered yet another technicality after Nakawa Chief Magistrate Esther Nambayo asked the file to be transferred to Iganga where the sexual offence was committed.

But the registrar Nakawa High Court Asaph Ruhindi is yet to transfer the file arguing that Nambayo had not given Baro a chance be represented by a lawyer.

Though Baro has remained on remand in Luzira Prison since April, he is yet to be formerly charged of the first offence.

A source at the Special Investigations Unit confirmed that there is an on-going case in which Emin Baro stands charged in a Masaka court for aggravated defilement. Police managed to trace a ten year old victim of Baro in Masaka.

Prisons spokesperson Frank Baine confirmed Emin Baro, who is currently locked up in the Kampala Remand Prison section, has a case in Masaka. Baine said Baro is usually taken to Masaka by car.
