PATU Hunts for an Unidentified Terrorist in Namuwongo

Police
The incident occurred this morning at about 10:00am.
Operatives from the Police Anti Terrorism Unit-PATU have stormed a house occupied by Boniface Masiga, a Kenyan national in the city suburbs of Namuwongo in search of clues on an unidentified terrorist.  The incident occurred this morning at about 10:00am. The officers were led by Boaz Ahabwe.

They searched Masiga’s house and confiscated mobile phones and passports of the occupants of the house. According to information obtained by URN, the confiscated phones were used to call a suspected terrorist wanted by Police. The suspected terrorist allegedly entered the country aboard an Easy Coach Bus and went to Munyonyo.

However, when the cops interrogated the two Kenyan nationals found in the house, they didn’t know where Munyonyo is found. The officers then searched the house occupied by Robinson Maina, another Kenyan who manages a pub in Namuwongo but nothing was found.  They searched through clothes, Wardrobes, saucepans, cup boards, LP players and old suitcases among others.

Two people including a URN reporter were called in by the cops to witness the search and asked to sign a certificate showing that nothing was found in both houses. Vincent Adupa, the officer in Charge of Kisugu police station who witnessed the search declined to provide more information about the incident but only said there was nothing to worry about.

Judith Nabakooba, the Police spokesperson had earlier on told URN that the officers had a right to search the premises if they had clues about any suspicious activities. Efforts to get a comment from John Ndungutse, the Commandant of the Police Anti Terrorism Unit were futile as he could not be reached on phone.
