Adjumani School Suspends 150 Students

News
Saint Mary Assumpta Secondary School in Adjumani district has suspended 150 students.
The two week suspension follows the failure of the students parents to attend the school's Parents Teachers Association (PTA) meeting.
The suspension has angered district authorities. The Adjumani District Inspector of Schools, Simon Mori says his department was not consulted before the school administration took the move to suspend the students, one week into the second term.
The school's headmistress, Sister Rose Sholo, could not be reached for a comment.
But the Adjumani District Chairman, Mark Dulu, says he doesn't agree with the school to suspend the students simply because their parents failed to attend the PTA meeting. He says his office has launched investigations to find out whether there could have been other motives.
