The Democratic Party (DP) wants government to fund political parties in the country.
DP President General, John Ssebaana Kizito said that during the Friday meeting with President Museveni, DP asked government to immediately implement the provision of the law that provides for free state funding of political parties in order to help parties achieve equity in delivering civic education to the population.

Ssebaana also said that they asked President Museveni to reinstate the presidential term limits although he did not respond to it.

All the political parties represented in Parliament are supposed to set up an inter-party committee comprising of two representatives from each party to follow up the matters which will be discussed periodically.
