Government Pathologists to Verify Claims of LRA Rebel Commander Slaying

News
The army has sent pathologists and forensic experts to Kango Sub-county in Nebbi District to verify claims that a commander of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) was killed over the weekend.
The UPDF spokesperson for the West Nile, Lieutenant Peter Wamboga, says the rebel commander and four other LRA rebels were killed by Congolese soldiers in a battle at Jalusiga in Congo's Ituri province.

Wamboga says the body of the man alleged to be a rebel commander has been taken to Nebbi where it will be identified by Government pathologists.
Yesterday the 4th Division UPDF officer, Captain Abel Kamugasha and two former LRA members, Captain Sunday Ocaya and Lieutenant Oyet, failed to identify the slain rebel.
Civilian sources inside the Congo claim that only one rebel was killed. They say he was killed by angry Congolese villagers who handed the body to Ugandan authorities in Nebbi.
