Police in Mbale have arrested a man suspected of being a cannibal.
The Mbale acting District Police Commander, Samson Lubega says residents of Naboa Road in Mbale town found the suspect with a roasted human hand and attempted to lynch him.
Lubega identifies the suspect as Rashid Opela a resident of Camp Swahili in Soroti town.
Lubega says the suspect has been temporarily charged with cannibalism pending a report from the police doctor.

A Mubende Magistrate Court recently found a self-confessed cannibal from Mityana, Samuel Nsubuga guilty of harming the dead and trespassing burial grounds and was sentenced to eight years imprisonment.
