Court Cancels Rakai Taxi Park Tender

Business
Kyotera Traders Association, a company that was awarded a tender to manage the Kyotera taxi park in Rakai district, has been evicted from the park.

Masaka Resident Judge, Kibuuka Musoke, on Thursday ruled that the tender was unlawfully awarded to Kyotera Traders Association. He said that although the company presented itself as an association, it did not present supporting documents of its alleged status to the Rakai District Tender Board.

Justice Kibuuka said the contract between Kyotera Traders Association and the tender board should be terminated immediately and the tender re-advertised. He added that in the interim the taxi park will be managed by the Kyotera Town Council.

Kyotera Town clerk, Sylvester Njawuzi, says the council will re-advertise the tender soon.
