More than 120 bodaboda motorcycles have today been impounded in an operation to enforce road discipline in Kampala city.
The operation was conducted by the police, KCC law enforcement officers and the Transport Licensing Board.
The Transport Licensing Board Acting Secretary, Winston Katushabe, says bodabodas are problem because their riders neither observe the traffic law nor respect other road users. He says today's operation specifically targeted riders without valid driving permits.
Katushabe says the operation will continue to eliminate reckless driving in the city.

Katushabe says a steering committee has been set up to oversee the enforcement of road discipline in Kampala. He says all bodaboda cyclists are expected to undergo a riding competence test.
Bodaboda riders in Kampala city say they are not opposed to the operation, but want it suspended until January next year to give them time to prepare their documentation.
