New super league entrants, Masindi Town Council Football Club, say they have budgeted 74 million shillings for their successful participation in the new football season that kicks off on November 18th.
Yusuf Wasswa, the Masindi FC assistant team manager, says the club is raising the money from fans and well wishers as well as from the Town Council and District Local Government authorities. He says the money will be used to buy a new kit for the team, to fund training camps and to purchase a van to transport the players too and from the soccer venues.
Wasswa discloses that Masindi FC has hired Richard Amature to coach the team this season. Amature was the former assistant coach of Victor FC. He will be assisted in his new job by Joseph Ssenyange, a former Kinyara FC player.
Wasswa says that because of financial constraints, Masindi FC will not buy any big-name players this season. He says the team will concentrate on grooming its young stars, many who are from the secondary school football circuit.
