Two Killed in Nebbi Accident

News
Two people have died and dozens were others injured in an accident on the Paidha-Nebbi road this morning.

The accident, at Kaya, a suburb of Paidha Town, involved a tipper lorry carrying second-hand clothes sellers and a minibus taxi.

Innocent Onega, the Mayor of Paidha who has just visited the scene of the accident said the lorry, traveling from Paidha had a head-on collision with the taxi that was coming from Nebbi. The lorry overturned, sending its passengers and merchandise hurtling to the ground.

Onega says two people, whom he could not immediately identify, died on the spot. Dozens others have been rushed to Nyapea Hospital located about 15 kilometers away.

Miraculously, nobody in the taxi was injured according to Onega.

The Nebbi-Paidha road is quite rough due to poor maintenance and is a scene of several nasty accidents.
