The headmaster of one of the largest private primary schools in Mukono is on the run. Charles Segawa, the headmaster of Global Junior School, is wanted for stealing school fees worth 60 million shillings. According to the police in Mukono, Segawa colluded with the school bursar, Harriet Nakasi, to forge bank slips and a stamp of Stanbic Bank Mukono branch in order to divert the school fees. The matter was reported by Florence Nabwami, a director of the school, after an audit of the accounts unearthed the anomaly. Kazi Owacha, the Mukono criminal investigations chief, says that during a raid on the headmaster's office, several forged bank accounts bearing Charles Segawa's signature were discovered. He says the school bursar has been arrested, but the headmaster is still on the run. It is believed that after he abandoned his duty at Global Junior School, Segawa took up employment at Fairway High School in Mukono. The Fairway High School management has remained silent on this issue and Segawa's whereabouts remain a mystery.
