Makerere University is to allow fees defaulting students to sit for their end of semester examinations that begins on Monday. The decision follows the student guild council intervention to plead on the defaulter's behalf. Makerere University guild information Minister Onesmus Twinamasiko says the student council decided to intervene when it was realized that many students would be affected. Twinamasiko says that the student council held a meeting with the university administration and Dean of students this morning where it was decided that students sit for their examination depending on the amount of money they had paid. He says that the students will only be allowed to sit for the papers they have paid for while the remaining papers will be forwarded to the next semester until when the students clear their tuition. Twinamasiko says that the missed papers will no be counted as retakes. John Ekudu the student's dean has asked the students to apply for the papers they want to write.
