The District Internal Security officer Buliisa Mathew Bangirana Mulimba has been suspended for misusing his gun and violently assaulting two civilians. The Midwestern Regional Internal Security Officer Vincent Gahima says that, Mulimba is accused of assaulting Yolam Byensi and Hitler Ntwairente. Gahima says after assaulting his victims, Mulimba fired bullets in the air causing panic and tension amongst the residents. Mulimba reportedly committed the offence on November 11 this year in Buliisa town when he met the two while he was returning from a drinking spree. Gahima says Mulimba will serve the suspension until investigations into the incident are complete. He says if its established that Mulimba shot the bullets with an ill motive he would be interdicted. Gahima says the security officer acted wrongly towards civilians which breaches the rules that govern security personnel and the use of fire arms. Mulimba could not be reached for comment.
