Kizza Besigye, the President of the Forum for Democratic Change, has challenged the appointment of Jotham Tumwesigye as Supreme Court judge. Mr. Tumwesigye, is a former Inspector General of Government. He is current chairman of the Directorate of citizenship and immigration. Speaking to hundreds of people this morning at Mparo, kashumurizo playground in Kabale, Besigye said Jotham Tumwesigye is a cadre of Museveni's National Resistance Movement who lacks sufficient legal practice to become a Supreme Court judge. // <<# Cue in:i Embeera yaguma konku eri# // <<# Cue out: #nigiraki, nikwashai.// Besigye says there is evidence from people who were in School and have worked with Tumwesigye. He says evidence will be presented to parliament to turn down Tumwesigye's appointment. Jotham Tumwesigye graduated from Makerere University law school in 1974. He worked as a state attorney in the ministry of justice for five years. He was part of a team that drafted the 1995 constitution of Uganda.
