An unidentified man was this morning lynched by angry mob after he grabbed an unspecified amount of money from a money lender and exchange dealer at Bibia border post in Atiak in Amuru district.

John Bosco Ocan, Atiak LC III chairman says the man was trying to make a quick escape when the crowd made a chase and beat him to death.

He says the deceased had just disembarked from a Starbus from Kampala headed for Sudan when he grabbed the money.

Two other people who had been seen with him eluded arrest as they sneaked away after seeing their colleague being beaten to death.

The killing comes just less than a week after one money-lender and exchange dealer identified as James Iraa was shot dead by unknown thugs in the same area as he returned home. The thugs reportedly robbed him of about 75 million shillings.

Money-changing business is usually done in the open at border points with dealers spreading the different currencies they deal in by the roadside.

Early this year unknown thugs stole 46 million shillings from one of the money-changers at the same Uganda-Sudan border post.
