The Ugandan automobile market has welcomed Toyota’s latest Land Cruiser Prado, 250 series, which is now available. The quick introduction of such a latest brand underscores the market’s ability to consume and its competitiveness globally.
This is the first edition of its type, with base sales volume in Japan standing at 2,250 units per month. Toyota remains the favorite brand in the Ugandan automobile market.
Launched in April this year, the all-new “250” series was created to support people’s lives by offering ease of handling based on strong off-road performance.
“The Land Cruiser will continue to evolve to meet societal demands while supporting the lives of customers around the world,” Toyota developers stated in a press release. The development team aimed to return the Land Cruiser Prado, which had shifted toward high-end luxury, to the light-duty model that customers have come to expect.
The developers noted that this model further clarifies the position of the three Land Cruiser models. This series has the same GA-F platform as the 300 series, a 2,850mm wheelbase, a 2.8-liter inline four-cylinder turbo engine, and an eight-speed automatic transmission, delivering up to 201 horsepower and a torque of 500 Nm.
In Uganda, it has been unveiled by CFAO Mobility Company, with Country Sales Manager Edwin Muhumuza expressing excitement about pioneering this car’s entry into the market.
“We are thrilled to introduce the All-New Land Cruiser Prado to our customers in Uganda. This latest model retains its legendary Land Cruiser DNA with added exciting new technology, giving it exceptional performance both on and off the road,” he stated.
Since its debut in 1951, the Toyota Land Cruiser has become a global icon, known for its reliability, durability, and exceptional off-road capabilities. Over 11.3 million units have been sold across 170 countries, making it one of Toyota’s best-selling models worldwide.
The Prado blends heritage and modernity, boasting a bold and powerful design. “The firm, solid stance provides an overwhelming feeling of stability, which tells you that this is a Land Cruiser. We are confident that this model will resonate strongly with our customers, offering them the confidence to traverse any terrain easily,” Muhumuza added.
The model also features innovative technologies like the new Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism, setting a new standard for performance and versatility. Safety features include curtain shield airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), and Downhill Assist Control (DAC), ensuring a secure driving experience under all conditions. It also has an Electric Power Steering (EPS) system, which reduces the driver’s steering effort by adding suitable assisting turning force, making steering softer and reducing feedback on uneven surfaces.
Toyota’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction is underscored by a special launch offer: complimentary service for five years or 100,000 km for purchases from CFAO Mobility Uganda until December 31, 2024. Additionally, the vehicle comes with a standard three-year manufacturer warranty. CFAO Mobility Uganda, as the official Toyota distributor, ensures peace of mind with a network of nine after sales centers across the country.
