Florence Nambozo, the State Minister for Karamoja Affairs and Sironko District Woman MP, has donated 150 high-quality mattresses and 200 bedsheets to several Health Centres III and IV, across her District.
Joshua Nabutewa, the MP’s assistant, led the distribution, prioritizing deliveries to hard-to-reach areas such as Bulujewa, Bumulisa, and Budadiri. Nabutewa emphasized that all health facilities in Sironko would receive the supplies, stating that the initiative aims to strengthen the district’s health sector. He also highlighted previous support efforts, such as the donation of an ambulance a few years ago.
Tom Namisi, the chairperson of Bumulisa Health Centre III, expressed gratitude for the timely assistance, noting that it was the first donation of its kind to the facility. He explained that patients had previously been forced to rest on the bare floor and called on leaders to expedite the provision of medical supplies to support the health center further.
The assistant in charge of Budadiri Health Centre IV, who received the consignment on behalf of the hospital administration, also praised the minister’s intervention. She acknowledged the overwhelming patient influx at the facility and said the donation would provide much-needed relief.
