A group of lawyers has been barred from entering the Central Police Station (CPS) in Kampala to represent their clients arrested during an anti-corruption protest.
The lawyers, led by Uganda Law Society (ULS) President Bernard Oundo, were denied access by police officers. The officers noted that only a select few had been granted entry prior to the lawyers’ arrival.
A group of activists took to the streets of Kampala on Tuesday morning threatening to march to parliament to demand the resignation of the speaker and Parliamentary commissioners because of the recent bribery allegations.
