President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has pardoned 130 convicted minor offenders, following Article 121 of the Constitution.
The pardon, granted on October 15, 2024, was based on “public health and humanitarian grounds,” as outlined in the official statement.
Frank Baine Mayanja, Senior Commissioner of Prisons and Deputy Director CCA/Service Spokesperson confirmed the development, stating, that “all the pardoned prisoners have since been released.”
