A decomposing body of an adult male was discovered on Tuesday afternoon in the Ruhija Sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Rubanda district. The body was found by game rangers who were tracking Mountain Gorillas in the park.

The deceased was dressed in two pairs of trousers, a checked shirt, a coat, and closed shoes. Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson, stated that authorities suspect the man may have been killed and the body dumped in the park.

The body was taken to Kabale Referral Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem examination, as investigations into the incident continue. Maate urged anyone with a missing person to check the hospital mortuary for identification so that the deceased could be given a proper burial.
