Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, head of the Office of the National Chairman – NRM Party, clashed with Fred Nayebare Kyamuzigyita, Rukiga Resident District Commissioner, and Caroline Kamusiime Muhweezi, Rukiga District Woman Member of Parliament, over the politicization of wealth creation offerings.

On Friday, Namyalo visited the Kigezi region to distribute free tools such as sprayers, brick and chapati-making machines, groundnut grinders, sewing machines, maize and cabbage seeds, battery chargers, and hair salon machines to local associations. She claims her “self-empowerment” program is more effective for local people organized in village-level associations than other government programs like the Parish Development Model, which she says involves excessive bureaucracy.

However, during a meeting with association members at Kantare prayer ground in Rutengye parish, Kashambya sub-county, Rukiga district, Namyalo clashed with Kyamuzigyita and Kamusiime.

The conflict arose when Kamusiime arrived and found many association members wearing campaign T-shirts and shirts promoting Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe Mwanaki Tumuhairwe, Deputy Managing Director of Finance and Corporate Strategy at the National Water and Sewerage Corporation. Mwanaki, also a resident of Kamwezi sub-county in Rukiga district, has announced her intention to contest for the Rukiga District Woman MP seat in the 2026 general elections, for which Kamusiime is also seeking a third term.

Kyamuzigyita took the microphone and accused the event organizers of politicizing the donations, creating the impression that they were from individuals rather than the Office of the President. Kamusiime argued that using the program to campaign for individuals interested in her seat was creating division and animosity within the district.

In response, Namyalo accused Kyamuzigyita and Kamusiime of sabotaging the program since they learned it would be held in Rukiga district. She refuted their claims that the tools were solely from the Office of the President, stating that many were donated by well-wishers.

Namyalo questioned why her arrival with Mwanaki was an issue for Kyamuzigyita and Kamusiime, pointing out that Mwanaki contributed towards the purchase of the tools, while Kamusiime did not.
