Drama unfolded at Mutufu Town Council in Sironko District on Sunday when two Boda Boda riders were bathed and had jiggers removed by their colleagues.
The riders, identified as Brayan Nangoli and Emma Gatili, both operate from the Mutufu Boda Boda stage at Mutufu Town Council.
Philimon Madoi, commonly known as Zakayo, reported that the two riders had been emitting a foul odor at the stage and were receiving numerous complaints from clients due to their refusal to bathe.
On Saturday, their colleagues held a meeting and decided to purchase items such as soap, water, razors, needles, soft pins, smearing oil, and perfume. They aimed to clean them up and improve their appearance.
Madoi explained that the two riders were forcibly cleaned; their hair was shaved, they were smeared with oil and perfume, and jiggers were removed from their feet.
Judi Mulisa, the Chairperson of the Mutufu Boda Boda stage, confirmed the incident and urged other Boda Boda riders to maintain proper hygiene to gain respect and enhance their professional image.
