The Attorney General maintains that civilians who commit offenses falling under the UPDF Act should be tried under military law.

A panel of seven Justices, headed by Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo, will oversee the hearing stemming from a successful 2021 petition by Former Nakawa MP Michael Kabaziguruka, who faced accusations of treachery in the General Court Martial.
