The Supreme Court is set to hear an appeal in which the Attorney General challenges a decision by the Constitutional Court that prohibited military courts from trying civilians.
The Attorney General maintains that civilians who commit offenses falling under the UPDF Act should be tried under military law.
A panel of seven Justices, headed by Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo, will oversee the hearing stemming from a successful 2021 petition by Former Nakawa MP Michael Kabaziguruka, who faced accusations of treachery in the General Court Martial.
