On the edition this week, the crisis in lower secondary education. We share firsthand experiences from the front lines of a struggling lower secondary school curriculum. Four years ago she told the country that her ministry was ready to roll out the curriculum.

Good as the curriculum may be, many say it has been dogged by poor implementation leading to the current crisis as the first cohort of learners sit for the final examinations under UNEB.

We speak to learners, parents, ministry officials and experts. All praise the curriculum but point to one thing; Good curriculum, bad implementation. Daniel Tamwesigire, a retired educationist based in Bushenyi, had one word for the implementation; “it is a total mess”.
