The Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC) Chairperson, Mariam Wangadya, is in court to testify against three Members of Parliament—Cissy Namujju Dionizia (Lwengo District), Paul Akamba (Busiki County), and Yusuf Mutembuli (Bunyole East)—who are facing corruption charges.
The MPs allegedly demanded a bribe from the UHRC Chairperson to influence the increase and approval of the commission’s budget. The trio has since denied the accusations.
