A 32-year-old man named Isaac Niwagaba, who has been on the run for allegedly kidnapping and killing females in Kajjansi, Kampala, has been arrested in Rukiga district.
Niwagaba was apprehended by a team of police officers from Kajjansi and Rukiga police stations at Bukinda trading centre in Rwakimuli village, Bukinda sub-county.

Niwagaba, along with other suspects still at large, reportedly posed as taxi drivers using a Toyota Hiace with registration number UAU 737W.
He has been implicated in four different cases of kidnapping and murder. The recent killing of Jenina Nassali on May 16, 2024, led to the police tracking her mobile phone to Bukinda, where Niwagaba was hiding.
Nassali’s phone was found in the room where Niwagaba was staying. Efforts are underway to transfer Niwagaba back to Kajjansi for further investigation. The case is registered at Kajjansi police station under file number CRB 415/2024.
