Samson Niwenyesiga the councilor for Kibare ward says that the authorities are wondering how the land in question could be sold leased out to developer without following the due process of the law.

belonging to Bushenyi Municipality.
The land in question is found in Kajurungo and is since occupied by a businessman only identified as Mwebaze.
He has set up a grain milling machine and other structures on the land.
Samson Niwenyesiga, the Kibare Ward councilor, says they are wondering how the chairperson leased the land to a private developer in disregard of procedures.
He wants the Municipality authorities to reverse the decision immediately since procurement laws were never followed.
Robert Makwakwa, the Kashenyi ward Councilor wants the division chairperson investigated immediately to ensure he doesn't continue misusing his office.
Steven Karuti, the Bushenyi Central Division LC 3 chairperson admits that the said land was leased to the businessman for a period of 10 years and Shillings 24 million.
He claims that the money was shared among the division and municipal head offices, adding that he isn't aware whether the procurement process was bypassed.

Milton Kasubule, the Speaker Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality, says the land was leased illegally and that the chairperson must explain the circumstances under, which the land was leased.
Kasabule has promised to table the matter before the municipal council for discussion and ensure that action is taken against chairperson and all those involved in leasing the land.
