1 Killed, 2 Critically Injured in Luweero Morning Shootout

A suspected robber is shot dead and two others critically injured during a gunfire exchange between robbers and police in Luweero Town council this morning. The dead is identified only John Muwulya a resident of Kito Sub County in Nakaseke district and the injured are Umar Kabanda, a witchdoctor and another, only identified as Kaddu, a resident of Luweero town council.

Kigozi adds that the police officers responded and killed John Muwulya, arrested Umar Kabanda, who is now undergoing treatment at Kasana Health Center IV while the third robber identified only Kaddu managed to escape with a gun. The dead body has also been transferred to Kasana health center IV for postmortem.

By press time, police, commanded by the district Police commander Justus Asiimwe had been heavily deployed at Kasiiso road and Luweero town as they join the manhunt for the robber who escaped. Police is also trying to establish whether there is grave that had been exhumed in the area to locate the source of the skull which was in their possession.

Luweero town LC 3 Charles Ssebyala explains that he has previously received complaints about Kabanda’s activities after residents claimed that he has been in possession of human remains.

Early this year Luweero and Wobulenzi town council experienced a spate of killings which left a number of people dead. The victims of the murders are Annet Nakaye and her son Joshua Kato, both were residents of Nakasero zone in Wobulenzi town council, Denis Ssesanga ,Racheal Mukasanga and Dick Lubega, all were residents of Luweero town council.
