Police in Kawempe is holding 13 men, some of whom are believed to be behind the gruesome murder of Abdul Sebagala,a Special Investigations Division detective in Lungujja, a Kampala suburb.

Hajji Abdul Ssebagala was fatally killed by assailants, who trailed him on a boda-boda on May 22 outside his home in Kikandwa zone. Ssebagala had been handy in managing and preventing crimes such as robbery, terrorism and corruption and had successfully succeeded in tracking down armed thugs.

Patrick Onyango, the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson says Kawooya was arrested following clues received during investigations and based on previous sentiments in which he threatened the late Ssebagala prior to his death.

Wycliffe Mujuni, one of the detained persons is an employee of the prisons service whose riffle was used in the murder. He is reported to have admitted his role in the crime.

Patrick Alinyo Mumya, the district police Commander Kampala metropolitan north says they have established that there is a big racket stretching as far as Sudan and Malawi.
