A 13-year-old girl from Lira, who went missing about two years ago after she was allegedly kidnapped by her defiler, has been found in Pader district. The girl, whose identity has been withheld because she is a minor, disappeared from her home in Abala village in Agweng Sub County in Lira district in July 2011. She was found by Police in Pader district last week, where she has been living with her defiler Tony Otyek as husband and wife.

Holding her one-year-old-baby in her arms, the girl told URN last week that she decided to stay with Otyek after failing to trace the route back to her home in Agwang Sub County. She explained that while in Pader, she was living at the home of Otyek’s auntie where she was involved in digging. Joan Amulu, the mother of the defilement victim says that by the time her daughter went missing she was only ten years of age. Amulu says she was shocked to find her daughter a mother barely at 13-years of age.

She explains that after the mystery disappearance of her daughter in 2011, she reported the matter to police and hunt started for her until she was found recently. Amulu says that she had given up the hope of finding her daughter, fearing that she could have been killed. Manshur Suwed, the North Kyoga police spokesperson says Otyek has been arrested to face charges of aggravated defilement and kidnap.
