Fourteen of the 400 pilgrims who set off for Namungongo Matry's shrine from Rwenzori region have dropped off citing various injuries to their feet.
 

Anthony Wonch, the coordinator of the Rwenzori pilgrims, says the 14 dropped off at Busega Catholic Church after developing injuries such as blisters on their feet and severe joint pain.

 
He says the injured pilgrims were rushed by an ambulance to Namugongo for treatment because they couldn't walk anymore. He explains that they have been joined by pilgrims from Mubende, Mityana and Busega.

 
Rwenzori pilgrims are from districts of Kabarole, Kasese, Bundibugyo, Ntoroko, Kyenjojo, Kyegegwa and others from DR Congo. The pilgrims started their journey from Fort Portal last Thursday.
