At least 172 youths have succesfully been registered for recruitment into the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) from the eight districts in Teso region.
The districts are Soroti, Serere, Kaberamaido, Amuria, Katakwi, Ngora, Kumi and Bukedea.
Lt. Jimmy Denis Omara, the UPDF third division spokes person, told Uganda Radio Network that172 recruits had successfully been recruited into UPDF in Teso.
He noted that with 38 recruits, Soroti district recorded the highest number of recruits while Serere recorded the least number of 14.
