The rains which hit Musheri sector on Sunday night also left four people seriously injured.

Those killed by the heavy rains were children according to the authorities in the area. The heavy rains are also said to have left a total of 67 families homeless after their houses were destroyed as well as about 30 hectares of banana plantations.

Rwandan National Police spokesperson Theos Badege says the locals in landslide prone areas of the country are being advised to shift as heavy rains hit the Country. Badege revealed that police also deployed in the area to ensure that the displaced are evacuated.
