21 students of St. John Fisher Ibanda secondary school are in custody at Ibanda Central Police Station for destroying school property. The arrest comes about a week after senior two and three students went on rampage and vandalised school property.
 

They also slaughtered and ate goats belonging residents neighboring their school. Francis Odeke, the commandant of the Field Force Unit in Bushenyi district says they picked up the 21 students in connection with the violent strike.
 
 
According to Odeke, the affected students have already recorded statements on the incident. URN has withheld the identities of the suspects since majority are minors. On Wednesday, St. John Fisher Ibanda secondary school administration resolved during a crisis meeting to expel the implicated students.  
 
 
Brother Herman Tamale, the head teacher St. John Fisher Ibanda secondary school says most of the senior three students are intelligent but are they being misled by a few trouble causers.
 

Five other schools in Ibanda have witnessed violent strikes in just one week. They are Alliance secondary; Ibanda secondary, Citizens secondary, Rwomuhoro secondary and Nyabuhikye secondary schools.

 
Eliasto Akatuheebwa, the Ibanda Resident District Commissioners blames the rampant strikes on the poor communication between school administration, student leaders and students.
