Three suspects are being detained at Busunju Police station over killing of a police officer in Mityana.The suspects are accused of having knowledge about a plan to kill Corporal Justus Bainemuha attached to Busunju Police station in Mityana district.
The Mityana District Police Commander Henry Kintu has identified the suspects as Charles Lubega, Florence Nassolo and Stella Nankya, all residents of Busunju central zone in Busunju trading center.
Kintu explains that unknown assailants attacked and stabbed Corporal Bainemuha on Thursday night as he walking back home from Charles Lubega bar in Busunju trading centre.
Kintu explains that the assailants stabbed him several times, most fatally to the head, before leaving him for dead. Residents who heard his cries for help then called police who rushed him to Mulago Referral hospital but he died before he could reach.

Kintu explains that police have received information that Corporal Bainemuha could have been have killed because it is thought he was engaged in a relationship with a married man. Police have declined to reveal the name of the couple for fear of compromising investigations. However, it is alleged the couple are on the run.
He adds that on fateful night he was the same woman in the bar alongside Charles Lubega the bar owner, Stella Nankya the bar attendant as well as friend Florence Nassolo who have been arrested to help in the investigations.
Hussein Ssonko, a resident, says that the deceased had been warned several times to end the love affair with the woman but he refused. Ssonko explains that the lovers had been involved for five months and her husband had even sought police intervention to end the affair.
The suspects have denied knowledge over the murder of Corporal Bainemuha but admitted that they were with him in bar before the incident.
