6 people were killed and 10 others injured during an accident yesterday morning involving a convoy that was escorting the Workers' Member of Parliament, Martin Wandera. Wandera said the accident took place near Namayego in Bugiri town. He said a vehicle rammed into one of the cars in the convoy, causing a pileup and killing 4 people on the spot and the other two died in the hospital. Wandera, who escaped unhurt, claimed the accident was deliberate attempt to kill him. He however declined to name those he suspects are behind the attempt on his life. Police said it did not have details on the accident and could not make a comment on Wandera's claims. Martin Wandera is contesting for the Bukholi South parliamentary seat. In a related development 10 people were injured in another accident along Saaza road in Bugiri Town.
