The appointment of Kibedi Zaake Wanume as the Ambassador to Denmark hangs in balance before the appointments committee of Parliament chaired by Speaker Rebecca Kadaga.

Kibedi is facing an arrest warrant for failing to pay a debt amounting to 50. 9 million shillings. The arrest warrant was issued after Zaake failed to honour the principal debt of 42 million shillings he owed to Kenroy Investment Limited, a money lending company. The company took the former legislator to court and he lost.

Court then ordered that he carries the cost of the suit that amounted to 6.6 million shillings. The amount has since accrued interest and now totals to over 50 million shillings.

Moses Katorogo, the Assistant Registrar High Court, signed the arrest warrant directing every Police officer of the Uganda Police Force to ensure that the execution of the order is done in an orderly and peaceful manner.

Kibedi served in the 8th parliament as the Youth MP Eastern Uganda. He attained an Advanced Diploma in Human Resources Development at the Bethel Training Institute in Jinja, Uganda. He also manages his own travel business.

In 2010 Kibedi, known by his supporters to be a loyal member of the NRM, lost the party's August primary elections for the Jinja West seat to Moses Balyeku who eventually took the seat.

In the February 2012 by-elections for Jinja East, Zaake had also expressed interest in the seat but was asked to stand down for the official NRM candidate, Nathan Nabeeta. But Paul Mwiru of FDC won the seat.

On 15 August 2012, President Museveni appointed his as the Ambassador to Denmark.
