Ssalongo Juma Wasswa, the Nammengo village LC 1 chairperson, says he was also shocked to see the lawyers letter, saying none of the claimants has appeared before him.

Harriet Kahare, a widow of the late Paul Kahare, a special police constable is living in fear of eviction from her home.

According to Kahare, the family of her late husband has been trying to evict her from their marital home in Nammengo Kasenke village in Lugazi municipality in Buikwe district since he passed away in April this year.

The late Kahare died at Kiruddu hospital on April 24th 2018. Harriet Kahare told URN with tears rolling down her cheeks that the family of her late husband loved her very much when he was still alive.

She however, says following the death of her husband, some of his relatives started approaching her to demand for the property of the deceased and the money she received as condolences.

According to the Widow, the family members sent her a document through Birungi Baingana & Co. Advocates written by the elder son of the deceased Tony Wanyoike directing her to handover all the documents like the National ID, motor vehicle card, Insurance card and all land agreements within seven days.

Harriet Kahare says she doesn't know the whereabouts of the said documents and is living in fear of eviction from her home, where she has been staying with the deceased for the last 19 years.

Tony Wanyoike accuses the widow of attempting to sell off their father's property since she doesn't have a child with their father and has nothing to lose.

He says all they want is for the widow to hand over the documents for safe custody since they don't trust despite the fact that she was married to their father.
