Apac Municipality MP Seat Attracts Seven Candidates

The race for the newly created Apac Municipality Member of Parliament has attracted seven people. 

They include former State Minister for Tourism, Trade and Antiquities, Jovino Akaki Ayumu,  George Okello Ekwaro, Patrick Ocan, Rev. John Robert Atim Etime, Bishop Edward Stanley Engena Maitum, former Apac district Woman MP, Lucy Ajok and Bonny Mackline Odongo Oding.

All seven candidates were nominated on Tuesday by the Apac District Returning Officer, Jimmy Musimbi.

The Returning Officer said that they will also be conducting the election of the Mayoral seat, district councilors representing all the four divisions including Atik, Akere, Aroca and Agulu and electing parish representatives at the Municipal council.

The candidates are expected to start their official campaigns next week after they are issued with the campaign road map.

The Electoral Commission has scheduled June 28th, 2018 as the date to conduct the election of various elective positions in the newly created municipalities.
